Join wine heavyweights Charlie Womersley and Oz Clarke as they canter through England’s finest vineyards
and wineries, through a series fun-filled online tasting to celebrate English Wine Week.
Three, special, live wine tasting sessions will take place on Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st and Saturday 27th of
June at 7pm, watchable via YouTube.
The pair will be using their decades of expertise to sample a variety of English sparkling and still wines
produced by vineyards and wineries across the length and breadth of England.
As advocates of the English wine industry, Charlie and Oz were the perfect choice to ask to help promote the
country’s superb and diverse range of wines, as part of the rescheduled English Wine Week which is now
taking place from 20th – 28th June.
Charlie and Oz will be tasting one sparkling and one still wine from the following sites:
- Renishaw Hall Vineyard in north Derbyshire
- Laneberg Wine in Tyne and Wear
- Flint Vineyard in Suffolk
- Galleywood Vineyard in Essex
- Bolney Wine Estate in East Sussex
- Woodchester Valley Vineyard in Gloucestershire
- Hencote Wines in Shropshire
- Blackbook Winery in London
- Polgoon Vineyard in Cornwall
The online tasting event is just one of the many ways people can get behind their country’s vineyards and help
celebrate this special week which was postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic – leading with the
message buy local and support your local producers.

Oz says: “There’s hardly a county in England which isn’t now involved in English Wine.
It’s a thrilling time for all of us – drinkers, producers, and sellers. And as we start to
recover from the Covid crisis, and once more feel a desire to celebrate, we should be
choosing English wine, and where possible, our own local vineyards and wineries.
My old friend Charlie Womersley and I will be hosting virtual tastings during English
Wine Week (June 20 – 28), featuring some of the smaller wineries from every corner
